Frank Morelli, LMHC

Frank Morelli, is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor practicing in St. Johns, Florida.  His practice is unique.  Eighty-percent of his work is dedicated to helping others live better with anxiety, OCD and depression.  Frank accepts clients of all ages including children, adolescents and adults.

Frank received his Master of Arts in Clinical Psychology from West Chester University of Pennsylvania in 1988 and his Florida license in 1992.  His career in mental health spans more than two decades, having exposed Frank to all aspects of service delivery, including inpatient and outpatient settings, public and private practice, program development, and community mental health.

During his work with clients from all backgrounds, Frank became convinced of the efficacy of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for treating a wide range of emotional problems.  He completed a year long Primary Practicum in Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy (REBT) in 1998 under the staff supervision of the Albert Ellis Institute in New York City.  Dr. Ellis is widely regarded as one of the originators of cognitive behavioral therapy.  He holds the distinction of being the most influential person in psychology since Sigmund Freud.

Frank is a 2009 graduate of the Behavior Therapy Training Institute (BTTI) founded by the International OCD Foundation.  The BTTI is provides an intensive training course in cognitive behavioral therapy for the treatment of OCD.

Professional Associations

Frank serves as president of the OCD Jacksonville, a not-for-profit corporation with a mission to help those affected by OCD and their families to find effective treatment and support.  This public service organization also educates the public and mental health professionals about OCD and its related disorders.  OCD Jacksonville is an affiliate of the International OCD Foundation.

Frank is a Professional Member of the International OCD Foundation.  Their mission is to help everyone affected by OCD and related disorders to live full and productive lives.  They further aim is to increase access to effective treatment, end the stigma associated with mental health issues, and foster a community for those affected by OCD and the professionals who treat them.

Frank is a Clinical Member of the American Mental Health Counselors Association (AMHCA).  The mission of the AMHCA is to enhance the profession of clinical mental health counseling through advocacy, education and collaboration.

Frank is a full member of the prestigious American Association for Behavioral and Cognitive Therapies (AABCT).  The AABCT is a multidisciplinary organization committed to the enhancement of health and well-being by advancing the scientific understanding, assessment, prevention, and treatment of human problems through behavioral, cognitive, and biological evidence-based principles.

Religious Affiliations

Frank is a member of Fruit Cove Baptist Church in St. Johns, Florida, a denomination of the Southern Baptist Convention.   Frank regards Jesus Christ as his personal savior and friend.

He believes that the abundant life spoken of in Scripture comes from experiencing a deep and abiding relationship with God and others.  Relationships are what make life meaningful and special.  It is the reason Frank is passionate about counseling others.
